€110.000 invested through ARISE in 7 startups

For the first time, an accelerator program distributes over €100,000 to early-stage startups from Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.

In April 2018, 6 startups from Greece, 1 from Romania and 1 from Bulgaria were selected through an evaluation process. To help teams overcome their first challenges, Found.ation organized a two-day Bootcamp including workshops and talks on June 4-5, while in the next 5 weeks that followed until Demo Day, startups were given regular and substantial support from the mentors assigned to them, networking opportunities with experienced market executives, and the ability to attend webinars for a variety of business-related topics. The final pitching was in front of an audience comprised of entrepreneurs, journalists, and investors on July 10.

Each of them received initial funding of €5,000 to develop an MVP, while upon completing their company formation by September and demonstrating their progress, the teams received additionally €10,000 each. By the end of the program, 7 out of the 8 groups were eligible for that.

The seven teams are:

  • EasyDoc – a platform that helps patients search for and book an appointment with a doctor, in just a few clicks.
  • Eliminatore – An environmentally friendly algae cleaning solution for aquaculture nets.
  • Embiots – An end-to-end IoT solution for monitoring the use, location and status of professional power tools.
  • HireFlows – A small- and medium-size staff recruitment platform that makes use of cutting-edge search algorithms.
  • Orderstate – A cloud service for exceptional SME supply chain control.
  • Quarioo – An integrated air quality and energy management monitoring system
  • Scoop – A modern small-business customer reward mechanism through social networks.

As a strategic partner of this branch to the European Innovation and Technology Center, Found.ation has been involved in designing the program and laying the foundations for its successful follow-up. This is one of the many actions EIT Digital supports for our region, with the aim of strengthening the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
