People-Powered Evolution White Paper

Focusing on the human side of technology and digital transformation, our third publication adds to the series of white papers exploring emerging themes in Digital Transformation.

In our third white paper regarding digital transformation policies and strategies, we turn our attention to the people working with us, working for us and working along with us. Their well-being, both mental and physical, is now a top priority.

The challenge for today’s businesses is to empower people, in order to connect what makes them human, with what they can offer to the organizations, where they put most of their time in. It used to be that employees had to adapt to a strict structure of an organization, and while this still holds truth, the organizations ought to open up to the ‘messiness’ and fluidity of “being human”, while operating in ways that do not threaten our existence on the planet.

With the objective to help businesses flourish in light of the 4th industrial revolution, having always their focus on people, Found.ation, with the support of EIT Digital, organized a workgroup with 20 pioneers of innovation and digital change of the Greek ecosystem. The team worked with the objective to point out emerging themes in the business world, with the knowledge that within this era of tech, rises the age of the human. Our main contributors: Maria-Olga Kalogeropoulou (Head of HR, Toyota Hellas) and Markos Fragoulopoulos (Deputy General Sales & Marketing Director, Interamerican Greece).

Some key points from the white paper:

Highlights:

  • Flexible working is here to stay. How can we address and overcome the employees’ fatigue?
  • Organizations now need to compete for talent on a global rather than regional level.
  • Continuous learning is the new norm.
  • Companies need to strike a careful balance between upskilling their existing people and acquiring new talent out of a very scarce pool.
  • Project teams might have to be built around employee skills, rather than organizational departments.

The full white paper is available (in English only) for download.
